Jane Bishop from Mockingbird Handprints, will be designing and dying custom textiles for interiors and wearables. Bishop starts with white fabrics, all natuaral fibers, they are then layered with color using dyes in many ways, immerison dyeing,dye painted, and taking thickened dyes to silk-screen and stencil on the fabrics for design. Bishop has been working with re-cyclying vintage and antique furniture w/ her one of a kind designs since 1999, and does custom work for individuals too. She will be developing fabric designs printed outside her shop along with wallpapers for home and office.
Paula Cox will be taking her experience as a printmaker in the fine arts and applying those skills to designs in fabric and wallpaper. She will be introducing Red Sparrow Press that will feature her new line of letterpress cards that are printed at the shop on a vintage proof press.
Jane and Paula view their new space as a working studio for themselves with room to showcase their one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and artwork. MockingBird Handprints will be an eclectic mix of art and home accents.
